Inaugural IOF & PF Face-to-face Street Fundraising Campaign

It was this campaign’s relaying of the complex nature of VSO’s work and overcoming limited brand awareness of VSO as a fundraising charity that particularly impressed the judges. VSO were delighted with the pilot campaign which met the recruitment target of sign-ups in just three weeks and by the end of the test activity had achieved more than double the original target. The average fundraiser had recruited 23 committed gifts each week and by the end of the period VSO had a 38% increase in committed givers compared to the end of the previous quarter.

IOF & PF Best Campaign for Donor Development

This campaign aim was to upgrade regular giving supporters to a higher level of support via the telephone. This was particularly effective because the campaign also demonstrated clearly that by understanding the characteristics of new, non traditional, audiences and approaching them appropriately, supporters such as those recruited face to face can be effectively developed and nurtured to give excellent long term returns. The campaign beat its targets generating an additional £104k per year for ActionAid.
